Seville hosts the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments as a key contribution to the UN conference on Financing for Development

The World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments, convened by the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments and facilitated by UCLG, was held in Seville on June 30 and July 1, with the support of the City of Seville and UNDP. Taking place at Fundación Cajasol, the Assembly brought together political leaders from all regions of the world in a unified act of political positioning ahead of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development.

Creation of the Global Alliance for Subnational Development Banks for Climate Action

In order to contribute to the necessity to localize climate finance for sustainable local development, the Government of Cameroun together with the African Network of SDBs (RIAFCO) and the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) launched the African Chapter of the Global Alliance on September 24th during the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations Head Quarter, in New York, USA.

More than 15 countries already engaged and 9 participated to the launching meeting in New York.
