The survey for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda is now available!

07 February 2023

Since 2017, the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments has facilitated a report to the High-Level Political Forum of the United Nations (HLPF) on the role of local and regional governments (LRGs) in the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The next report will be presented in July 2023.

We need the support of LRGs and their associations: Please fill in the Survey!

We need the support of the local and regional governments and their national associations from all countries and, particularly, from the 40 countries that have committed to submit a Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the 2023 HLPF.

Your support and answers will be critical for our collective progress to advance the localization of the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs.

You can access this link to complete it online. If you are a European local government association, please complete this survey by 7 March 2023. If you are a European local or regional government or a non-European association or local or regional government, you have time until 1 April 2023.

Through the above link you will also find a downloadable file that you can use as a guide. In case of technical issues, kindly get in touch with us and we will provide an off-line version of the survey.

A better recovery from COVID-19 and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda

The 2023 HLPF is going to address the theme “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels”. Our survey and report will focus in particular on highlighting local and regional governments’ contribution to a more sustainable and just recovery from COVID-19.

Have you implemented inspiring practices related to the localization of one of these five SDGs?

Share them with us through the survey!

  • SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation
  • SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
  • SDG 9: Industry innovation and infrastructure
  • SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

In Europe, the European Union will produce for the first time an EU Voluntary Review on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We encourage local and regional governments in the European Union to participate in this survey, whose results will complement the review at the regional level.
