The World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments will meet on 8th February 2018 in Kuala Lumpur in order to discuss progress and follow-up on the implementation of the global goals and the New Urban Agenda from the perspective of proximity. Around 150 local and regional leaders, representing different global networks of local and regional governments, will gather at this fifth session of the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments.
From 8-12 May a delegation of local leaders and networks of the Global Taskforce participated in the 26th Session of the Governing Council of UN Habitat, the first since the adoption of the New Urban Agenda in Quito in October 2016.
The role of local and regional governments in the implementation of the New Urban Agenda
À l’occasion de la 37e Assemblée générale de l’Association internationale des maires francophones (AIMF) du 19 au 22 juin 2017 à Montréal (Canada), l’apport au quotidien des femmes leaders dans la réalisation des Objectif du Développement Durable (ODD) a été reconnu et surtout renforcé.
C’est dans ce sens que l’Aimf a proposé une mise en perspective des apports et des attentes des femmes entrepreneures à l’égard des collectivités locales, et a lancé une réflexion sur la nécessité d’une structuration sous-régionale des réseaux de femmes.
