Taking stock of the progress made since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in 1995, local and regional leaders from across the globe united in New York to celebrate local action towards equality for all, everywhere, and pledged for local solutions to global challenges at the 69th Commission on the Status of Women.
As the international community gathered at the United Nations Headquarters, the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments sessioned to deliver a powerful message to the global stage. The local and regional government constituency gathered in the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments (GTF) brought over 50 elected officials to the 2024 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) from all regions and many networks of the GTF, including Regions4, ORU-Fog
The United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) will be held from Monday, July 8 to Wednesday, July 17, 2024, under the theme "Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions."
